"Watch out for the right hook" should be the chant echoed across stadiums near and far as the self professed hook-master himself enters an arena.

!Itʼs hard to tell which came first, Lucas Mckenzieʼs love for the entertainment business, or Coldsteps himself being an entertainer; either way, at the novice age of 17, this innovative photographer with a keen eye for success was already focused on his professional portfolio for clients such as RWD and Whatʼs Poppin Magazines.

His astute eye for hitting targets squarely- soon led to an official post as Play Entʼs In-house photographer. It was here at the famed "Playhouse" that Luke Mckenzieʼs other talents began to flourish. When a well known mc failed to deliver on a track, Coldsteps literally stepped up to the plate delivering an unexpectedly energetic "hook" that would become his trademark style. The mic replaced the camera by way of request from then on.

The now sought after rave host can mark his journey from the studio to the University circuit, from mixtapes to radio, and onwards to in-demand remix feature artist, till finally arriving at iconic UK Funky brand, in only 3 short years. Not bad for the never camera shy photographer.

As an established key member of the Play Entʼs family, Coldsteps would become their lynch pin promoter/ performer. His signature hook, ʻI Will Be Thereʼ unintentionally became a brand that rang loud and clear with audiences up and down the country driving a concept into a merchandising and downloadable imprint. Dubbed as the ʻGolden Childʼ of the UK Funky scene, the first host to mc over funky beats, Coldsteps is an instantly recognisable staple in the framework of his genre.

Musically influenced by Old Skool garage; hosting comes as second nature. His signature hooks and endearing persona have enabled Coldsteps continuous prominence within the UK Funky scene. Collaborations with key stakeholders like Princess Nyah, Khalia, Lil H, DJ Cameo, Big Man Zest, Nadia Suliman, Splurge and The King of of UK Funky, Mr. "Party Hard" Doneo, have all served to booster the Coldsteps repertoire of talent and carry him further up the ladder to success. But not before making his mark on the UK Festival calendar and showcasing at the famed O2 and Wembley Stadium.

In 2011, the decision to expand his forte into other lyrical genres proved successful as he rapped up another hit on the Darren Martin produced, ʻI Will Never Love Againʼ. Not content to be boxed in, Coldstepsʼ chemistry sets the alchemy of music unto the bunsen burners of Deep House, Hip-hop and House & Funky.

The Mixtape Arena: remaining as loyal to his fans as they are to him, 2012 sees "the golden child" of UK Funky expand his repertoire further a field and higher a ground. Fully focused on his music and now armed with a new team of sharpshooters, when Londonʼs WHOA FM turned Record Label decided to joint venture their brand along with the one man brand himself, there was only one aim... The Charts!
